Cifial distinguished in the USA with Good Design Award

After being distinguished as a finalist at the Good Design Japan, Techno CC the coconut fibers washbasin from Cifial USA has now also been awarded with one of the world's most prestigious design award: The Good Design 2010 award given by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Techno CC was designed by Carlos Aguiar and is the result of a successful partnership for Technological Development with INEGI, which allowed the development of new techniques to process aluminium alloy,polymer and composite materials, sometimes combined with natural materials. In this particular case, the Techno CC coconut washbasin is made from recycled coconut husks encased in resin giving the basin a tactile 3D feeling.
